MP-28 Masterpiece Hot Rodimus review

Also referred to as "Masterpiece Hot Rod 2.0", MP-28 is the second Masterpiece version of Hot Rod. The first reportedly had some design flaws, which presumably prompted this redo.

The only significant flaw I found in the new version is that some parts tend to drag on the ground in car mode. Nothing seems particularly fragile, and the transformation only has one or two mildly tricky spots. Poseability is good, including a good range on the ankle tilts. Robot and car modes both look great.

The fishing rod accessory (yes, really), not included with the original Masterpiece Hot Rod, is a fun addition, referencing his intro scene in Transformers: The Movie.

More Zootopia: Disney plushes, Tomy figures & cars

Here comes more Zootopia stuff! Previously we brought you the figurine playset from the Disney Store. Now we have the Disney Store's plushes, plus a new line of poseable figures and cars.

The 9 Disney plushes come in 3 sizes: "bean bag" for $10, "small" for $15, and "medium" for $20. They all seem well made with nice details and good character likenesses. There are other lines of Zootopia plushes available at other stores, which we may get to in the future.

The new figures are about the same size as the Disney figurines, but they're poseable and there are vehicles that they can go in - at least, the ones that are the right size. Animals in Zootopia come in all shapes and sizes! The World of Zootopia set contains 14 figures, some too big for the cars, and some of them only about one inch tall!

LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Review and Speed Builds

We asked. You answered. Here it is! The next toy review: the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon.

We've got three videos for you. The first is a short review of the Millennium Falcon as a toy, fully assembled. It's a huge set—over 1, 300 pieces—and comes with seven mini-figures from The Force Awakens: Rey, Finn, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Tasu Leech, a Kanjiklub gang member, and BB-8. It's almost worth getting the set just to play with a Lego droid.

There are also two speed builds. The first one is at 6x speed and includes the step numbers from the Lego assembly instructions. It's useful if you're building it yourself or want to see things step by step.

The last video is a 20x speed build. It's about 8 minutes and meant to be just pure fun.

And if you want to grab a set for yourself, here are links from LEGO, Amazon, and Target. Enjoy!

2016 New Year's Poll: What should we review next?

We're celebrating the new year, and also the milestone of half a million views on our BB-8 Showdown video!

Now that we're getting back to work after the holidays, we have lots of toys to look at, and we want to know which ones you want to see. So we're putting it up to a vote.

The choices are:
  • LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon. Our previous LEGO videos were really just warm-ups for this one.
  • Star Wars Air Hogs Millennium Falcon: We have the small double prop and the larger quad copter versions to compare.
  • Zootopia plushes: We previously looked at the figurine set; now we've got the Disney Store plushes.
  • Transformers Masterpiece Tracks and Road Rage: This would be a 2-for-1 video featuring the classic character Tracks, and the lesser known Road Rage, the first female Transformer in the Masterpiece line.
  • Hexbug Nano: We have a few different Hexbug Nano v2 sets, but we really want to see what other kinds of tracks and environments the bugs can handle.
Leave us your comment here or on the video to vote. We look forward to hearing from you!
